 Céleste Gatier   セレスト・ギャティエ

フランス人のサウンド・アーティスト。DIY電子機器や、しばしば「紙の回路」を用いて表現する。彼女のパフォーマンスは、楽器の脆さがフォーカスされ、身体の微妙な動きによる、電気的切断、干渉、ショートが新たなノイズ現象を生み出す。ホワイトノイズの冷たさと言葉・詩の間の奇妙な弁証法から「声」も加えられ、身体にとって最も異質なエレクトロニクスをリンクさせ、その狭間で「夢」を見る。 また、ソルボンヌ大学の博士課程の研究員でもあり、日本建築の音響学や、音と建築のつながりに取り組んでいる。

Céleste Gatier is a French sound artist, working with an intimate DIY electronic device, often made of “paper circuits”. Her performance focuses on the fragility of the instrument. Each tiny gesture generates new noise phenomena, through cuts, interference and short-circuits. Voices are added, in a strange dialectic between the coldness of white frequencies and word-poems. Linking the voice of intimacy to the electronics that are the most foreign to the body and dreaming in the in-between.  

She is also a PhD searcher at Sorbonne University working on the acoustics of Japanese architectures and the links between sound and architecture.

毛利桂  Katsura Mouri

1998年よりターンテーブリストとして京都を拠点に活動。ターンテーブルを楽器として扱いハムノイズ を増幅させた音で演奏する。近年は自身の演奏する音を視覚化した立体作品や映像作品も発表している。海外での演奏活動も多く、 REFLUX（ベルリン、2022）、Audiograf（オックスフォード、2017）、 LUFF（ローザンヌ、 2015）等のフェスティバルに招待されている。

She has been based in Kyoto since 1998 as a turntablist. She treats the turntable as a musical instrument and performs with a sound that amplifies hum noise. In recent years, she has also been presenting three-dimensional works and video works that visualize the sound of her own performance.  She has performed in many foreign countries, and has been invited to festivals such as REFLUX (Berlin, 2022), Audiograf (Oxford, 2017), and LUFF (Lausanne, 2015).

 

磯端伸一  Shin’ichi Isohata

ギター奏者、作曲家。1962年大阪市生まれ。1982年から'85年まで東京でティム・ドナヒュー氏にフレットレス・ギターとジャズ理論を学ぶ。1985年から高柳昌行氏に師事。1994年より兵庫県在住。主に独自の視覚イメージによるサウンドを探求。2014年より小谷忠典監督の映画・演劇作品における作曲と自作曲を提供。国内外に共演者、アートコラボレーション多数。

Guitarist and composer, born in Osaka, Japan in 1962, studied fretless guitar and jazz theory with Tim Donahue in Tokyo from 1982 to '85, studied with Masayuki Takayanagi from 1985, and has lived in Hyogo Prefecture since 1994. Since 2014, he has been composing music for Tadasuke Kotani's film and theater productions, as well as his own compositions. 永井千恵とヴァイツエル　ヨシュアの音楽は、常に「響き」という概念を中心に置いています。音楽とは何か、そして音楽的であるとはいったい何なのでしょうか？二人の演奏においては、子供が初めての物に出会った時にするように、常識に捉われた「音」という概念を破って響きの可能性を広げていきます。また時には、極簡素化された奏法が、極度な強弱変化と叙情的なフレーズと相まります。一般に「音楽的」と解されるものは根底まで抽象化され、一方では「非音楽的」な雑音が「音楽的」なものを創造するための素材となってゆきます。今この瞬間に生まれ、そしてまたすぐに消えていくものだとしても、それはそれ自体の「矛盾」と「対照」により初めて音楽的作品となる相見えない要素なのです。

Chie Nagai and Joshua Weitzel's music always centers on the bare concept of ‘sound’. What is music and what exactly does it mean to be musical? In their performances, they break away from the conventional concept of "sound" and expand the possibilities of sound, just as children do when they encounter something new for the first time. Simplified playing techniques are combined with extreme dynamics and lyrical phrasing, and what is generally understood as `musical' is abstracted to its fundamentals, while `non-musical' noise becomes the material for creating something musical. Even if something is born in this moment and then disappears again, it is an incompatible element that becomes a musical work through its own contradictions and contrasts.

Chie Nagai  永井千恵

千葉県生まれ。ドイツ、カッセル市在住。武蔵野音楽大学、同大学院修了。２００８年渡独、カッセル市立音楽院にて声楽、フランクフルト音楽大学にて声楽教育及びEMP(基礎音楽教育）を修める。歌手としては、小林由直、Christian Wolff、Ulli Goette、足立智美など様々な作曲家との共演や初演を行など、現在音楽の分野で精力的に活動。アーティストとしては、即興音楽家としても活動し、世界各地で様々なパフォーマーと共演している。中でもHada BeneditoとのDuo「Klangplatz」は２０２２年にベルリン芸術アカデミーの奨学金を得て、文化国境を超えて子供たちに現在音楽を広めるべく、「子供のための実験音楽、即興音楽コンサート」を企画しドイツ各地でコンサートを開催している。２０２２年から２０２３年カッセル市立音楽院講師、州立カッセル歌劇場補助合唱団員、ドイツ声楽教育協会会員。

born in Chiba Prefecture, lives in Kassel, Germany.

Graduated from Musashino College of Music and its graduate school before moving to Germany in 2008, where she studied vocal music at the Kassel Music Academy ‘Louis Spohr’, as well as vocal music education and EMP (basic music education) at the Frankfurt University of Music. As a singer, she is currently actively working in the field of improvised and contemporary music performing works by various composers such as Yoshinao Kobayashi, Christian Wolff, Ulli Goette, and Tomomi Adachi. The duo "Klangplatz" with Hada Benedito received a scholarship from the Berlin Academy of Arts in 2022, and in order to spread current music to children beyond cultural borders, they will hold "experimental music and improvisational music concerts for children".From 2022 to 2023, she was be a lecturer at the Kassel Music Academy, a member of the auxiliary choir of the Kassel State Opera, and a member of the German Vocal Education Association.

ドイツ、カッセル市生まれ、同市在住。音楽家(ギター、三味線)、サウンドアーティスト。即興音楽、サウンドーパーフォーマンス、電子音楽、サウンドーインストレーションの分野で活動。現在までにCDを１１枚リリース。その他２００人以上のアーティストとコラヴォレーションしている。Takatsuki Trio Quartett（ベルリン）、現代三味線デュオ、Post Factual BopとDuo Nagai-Weitzelのメンバー。２０２１年と２０２３年にはヘッセン州公共放送から作曲を委託される。サウンドアートの分野では、Tan Boneというコレクティブの一員として、ドイツ（documenta fifteen）、イギリス、スコットランド、オランダ、フランス、タイ、オーストラリアでの展示会から招待され作品の展示発表を行う。２０２０－２０２２年Mainz音楽大学でサウンドアート研究員、2022－2024年パーダーボルン大学の芸術学部でサウンドアートの講師として勤務。

Joshua Weitzel lives in Kassel, Germany. He works as a sound artist and musician (guitar and shamisen), employing methods of composition, improvisation, electro-acoustic music, sound performance and installation. To date his music is featured on 11 CD releases. Additionally, he has worked with over 200 artists. He is a member of the groups Takatsuki Trio Quartett, Contemporary Shamisen Duo, Duo Nagai-Weitzel and Post-Factual Bop. 2021 and 2023 he was commissioned to compose works for public radio Hr2 Kultur. With the sound art collective Tan Bone he has taken part in exhibitions in Germany (documenta fifteen), UK, Netherlands, Australia, Thailand and France. From 2020-2022 he was artistic research associate for sound art and sound research at the Mainz Music School, 2022-2024 he had a teaching assignment in the art department of the University of Paderborn.

廃品等を使った自作のアナログ楽器とエフェクターにより構築するのはあくまでも”音楽”であり、また決して前衛的でなものではない、と本人は思っている。しかし、誰も聞いたことがない、形容が困難な音楽をつくりだしている、という自負はある。目指すのはソリッドな幽玄。

Kazue believes that it's nothing other than "music" that she creates with her instruments which are made mainly from scraps and effectors, and that the music is not avand-gard by any means. However she’ｓconfident that she's making music that nobody has ever heard and is difficult to describe. Solid ethereality or yugen.

フランス人サウンド・アーティスト。「紙の回路」など、身近なもので手作りした電子楽器を使用し、そのパフォーマンスは、楽器の「壊れやすさ」に主眼を置く。

周波数によって規定される電子音の冷たさと言葉を用いた詩の間隙を埋める奇妙な弁証法に、声が加わる。

声の親密さを、身体にとって最も異質な存在である電子機器と結びつけ、そのあわいで夢をみる。

繊細と粗野の狭間で、工業的苦情のために執り行われる音の儀式。

彼女はソルボンヌ大学の博士課程に在籍し、日本建築における音響的特性および音響と建築の関係について研究を行っている。

1962年大阪府出身。12歳の頃よりギターを弾き始める。同時期にジャズのハーモニーやアドリヴに魅かれて、ギターの技術とベーシックな音楽理論を独学で習得。1982年から’85年まで東京でティム・ドナヒューにフレットレス・ギターとジャズ理論を学ぶ。1985年から1991年まで高柳昌行氏に師事。1994年より兵庫県在住。ジャズ、インプロヴィゼーション、ノイズ等の他、感覚イメージと独自の理論から構成されるギターミュージックでデリケートで静謐な響き、透明な音色、日本的な「間・余白」などに勤しむ。2014年より小谷忠典監督の映画作品や演劇への作曲および楽曲提供。
