Victor Herrero :

Initiated in music during his childhood at the Escolanía del Valle de los Caídos, Víctor Herrero (Madrid, 1981) received training from Benedictine monks in Gregorian chant, Mozarabic music, classical repertoire and polyphony, beginning classical guitar as his main instrument.

He began a long-standing collaboration with US artist Josephine Foster in the mid-2000s, performing live and contributing to several of her albums, including This Coming Gladness (2008), Blood Rushing (2012), I’m a Dreamer(2013) and Faithful Fairy Harmony (2018)

His first solo album Anacoreta (Bo’Weavil Recordings, 2009) presents instrumental compositions for Spanish guitar influenced by classical, folk and Andalusian traditions. Together with Josephine Foster he formed the Josephine Foster & Victor Herrero Band, releasing Anda Jaleo (2010) and Perlas (2012), reinterpretations and original arrangements of Spanish traditional songs.

Herrero has explored diverse musical paths: Tiempo para la Cosecha (Foehn Records, 2012) with the project Viva, based on African polyrhythms; Estampida (2013), inspired by Ibero-American music; Astrolabio (Feeding Tube Records, 2017), an experimental work for Portuguese guitar; and Hermana (El Volcán Música, 2021), produced by Tobias Levin. His latest album, Pajarito Negro (Tras-Os-Montes Records, 2023), features romantic songs with string arrangements recorded between Portugal and London.

In recent years he has collaborated extensively in concerts and recordings with artists such as Vinicio Capossela, Lorena Álvarez, Luzmila Carpio, Damien Rice, Keiji Haino, Michael Gira, Master Musicians of Joujouka, Baby Dee, Lucrecia Dalt, Alasdair Roberts, and many others.

ビクトル・エレロ

幼少期にエスコラニア・デル・バジェ・デ・ロス・カイードスで音楽教育を受けたビクトル・エレロ（1981年マドリード生まれ）は、ベネディクト会修道僧からグレゴリオ聖歌、モサラベ音楽、クラシックレパートリー、ポリフォニーを学び、クラシックギターを主楽器として習得した。

2000年代半ばには米国人アーティスト、ジョセフィン・フォスターとの長期にわたる協業を開始。ライブ演奏に加え、彼女のアルバム『This Coming Gladness』（2008年）、『Blood Rushing』（2012年）、『I’m a Dreamer』（2013年）、『Faithful Fairy Harmony』（2018年）など複数作品に参加している。

Fuji Yuki

FUJI-YUKI is a Japanese vocalist who uses her voice like an instrument. With special vocal techniques, glossolalia and electronic pedals, she creates a wide variety of sounds. Inspired by the spirits of Buddhism and Shintoism, she creatively transforms her vocals into an ambient drone or prayers resonating in a church-like space. Her live performances are always different, depending on the place and space they take place in. She is also known as the vocalist of the experimental band Sarry.

FUJI-YUKI：声を楽器のように使う日本のヴォイスパフォーマーであり、特殊な発声法、グロソラリア、電子ペダルなどを駆使し、多彩なサウンドを生み出す。また、仏教や神道の精神にインスパイアされたその歌声は、空間の響き、沈黙、自然音、ノイズなどあらゆる現象と呼応して、その場に溶け込み、空間が立ち上がっていく様は稀有である。ソロ活動の他、音楽ユニットSarryのボーカリストとしても知られている。

2023年、フランス4都市を皮切りに、海外文化交流企画を始動。

She has been listening to early Western music, contemporary music, and ethnic music since her early teens. She believes that what she creates with her homemade analog instruments using discarded materials as well as effectors is simply “music,” and not avant-garde at all. Her goal is to achieve a solid sense of yugen.

十代前半から西洋古楽、現代音楽、民族音楽などを好んで聴いてきた。廃品等を使った自作のアナログ楽器とエフェクターにより構築するのはあくまでも”音楽”であり、また決して前衛的なものではない、と本人は思っている。ソリッドな幽玄。

Shin'ichi Isohata 磯端伸一

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1962. Began playing guitar around age 12. Around the same time, captivated by jazz harmony and improvisation, he taught himself guitar technique and basic music theory. From 1982 to 1985, studied fretless guitar and jazz theory with Tim Donahue in Tokyo. From 1985, he studied under Masayuki Takayanagi, correcting and mastering fundamental instrumental techniques at Takayanagi's private school until the his passing in 1991, while also learning musical aesthetics and philosophy. Resided in Hyogo Prefecture from 1994.

His guitar music, composed from sensory imagery and unique theory, strives for delicate, tranquil resonance, transparent timbre, and Japanese-style “ma” (spacing/silence).

The series “EXISTENCE,” begun in 1996, is a lifelong project including collaborations with artists from other fields. It continues today, aiming for an aesthetic sharing of time and space. Collaborators extend beyond music, numbering many both domestically and internationally.

Since 2014, he has composed and provided music for films directed by Tadasuke Kotani: ‘The Legacy of Frida Kahlo - Ishiuchi Miyako, Weaving Like’ (2015), ‘Tamaran Hill’ (2019), ‘Where Bibi Went’ (2020), ‘ORIGAMI’ (2022), and ‘Night Skirt’ (2022). He also participated in the theater production "Bread Crusts" (2022, produced by Sunanoue, directed by Tadasuke Kotani, script by Kazumasa Oga, stage design by hase) with music and performance.

1962年大阪府出身。12歳の頃よりギターを弾き始める。同時期にジャズのハーモニーやアドリヴに魅かれて、ギターの技術とベーシックな音楽理論を独学で習得。1982年から'85年まで東京でティム・ドナヒューにフレットレス・ギターとジャズ理論を学ぶ。1985年から高柳昌行氏に師事、高柳氏の私塾にて氏が亡くなる1991年まで楽器の基礎技術を矯正習得し、音楽美学と哲学を学ぶ。1994年より兵庫県在住。

感覚イメージと独自の理論から構成されるギター・ミュージックは、デリケートで静謐な響き、透明な音色、日本的な「間・余白」などに勤しむ。

1996年から始めたseries "EXISTENCE" は、他分野のアーティストとのコラボレーションを含むライフワークであり、時空の美的共有を目指し現在も継続されている。共演者は音楽だけにとどまらず国内外に多数。

2014年より『フリーダ・カーロの遺品 - 石内都、織るように』(2015年)、『たまらん坂』(2019年)、『びびのゆくえ』(2020年)、『ORIGAMI』(2022年)、『夜のスカート』(2022年)、における小谷忠典監督の映画作品への作曲および楽曲提供。また、演劇『パンの耳』(2022年、砂の上の企画、演出 : 小谷忠典、脚本 : 大鋸一正、舞台美術 : hase) に音楽と演奏で参加。
