Visit to the mysteries of the megaliths 1 : Amano-Ishidate-Jinja(shrine), Nara /

The other day, I visited to the megaliths and ancient tombs of Nara with Dr. Yakushi, who has a deep knowledge of mysterious history.

Amano-Ishidate-Jinja(shrine) /  Yagyu-cho, Nara-shi, Nara

It was a huge megalith, much bigger than I had imagined.
Could they have been built by humans or something from another world? Including Mt. Kasagi, the surrounding area is full of mysterious megaliths.

the movie "Legacy of Frida Kahlo - Miyako Ishiuchi, as weaving" at Kyoto Minami-Kaikan, and Toji Temple

After a long time, I met up with Naoyo at Kyoto Minami-Kaikan to watch the movie "Legacy of Frida Kahlo - Miyako Ishiuchi, as weaving" directed by Tadasuke Kotani. It was a full house,   jam-packed with audiences, with no Corona support(lol).

Ishiuchi's eyes and gestures, his camera work, and the extremely vivid colors of Mexico caught my attention again, and as always, I was mesmerized. The balance between the beautiful colors of the background and the composition by video camera when some scenes of  Ishiuchi takes pictures indoors is also impressive.  I wonder if the colors look different in different venues, or if it's just my imagination, but I felt the colors were more intense and vivid this time.

Frida's belongings, the sunlight, the ruins of Mexico, and people's daily lives are always so beautiful and have such a strong energy. In the midst of all this, Ishiuchi's photographs were full of tenderness, emitting a soft, pale light that could be described as Japanese. Kotani often confronts death., but this time such his perspective, aesthetics, and camerawork in capturing such so warm and soft moments in his films, seemed to me to be an homage to Frida and Ishiuchi.

After the screening, the organizers conducted an interview with Ishiuchi. We were finally able to see her actual appearance and voice for the first time, and we were glad to know that she is as active for busy and healthy as ever. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the organizers for offering to show the film in Kyoto.

Afterwards, we took a walk around Toji Temple near the movie theater. Not too afraid of humans(?) blue heron, the fire tank is a watering hole for pigeons, a family of ducks. Then we had dinner at restaurant "Kū" right next to the restaurant. Very tasty "Kamo(duck) buckwheat noodles (It's a little awkward moments because we just saw a family of ducks....), and strange shaved ice.
